Classroom

The Friends of Tawd Valley Classroom is nearly up and running. Keep checking back here for information on future letting opportunities, Wildlife/Nature run educational programs, Cake & Coffee events and much more.

The classroom and toilet facilities have been made possible from funding generated by Whitemoss Community Funding, the Lancashire Environmental Fund (LEF) and their Landfill Community Funds Grants.

The Whitemoss Community Funding provides grants to fund community and environmental projects located within 5 miles of the Whitemoss landfill site in Skelmersdale.

The LEF is a partnership between Suez Recycling and Recovery Ltd, Lancashire County Council, The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside and Community Futures. The Fund is financed by Landfill Communities Fund donations from Suez Recycling and Recovery Ltd together with a contribution from Lancashire County Council.

We hope to have the classroom fully up and running by the beginning of 2024.

Watch this space!!!

At the beginning of 2024, in addition to the classroom, we were very generously gifted a brand new 6′ x 6′ storage container. The donation was made by local housing developer – Tawd Valley Developments.

At Tawd Valley Developments they do things differently. They don’t just build affordable homes to buy or rent – They create high quality homes in communities where people can thrive.

They are a community based property development company building affordable homes to buy and to rent. As the company is wholly owned by West Lancashire Borough Council any profit that the Company makes is reinvested into services which benefit the local communities of West Lancashire.
