FoTV Environmental Policy

Friends of Tawd Valley has goals to help improve the environment of the Tawd Valley Park in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

We recognise that our operations in themselves have an effect on the local and regional environment.

As a consequence of this, the committee are committed to continuous improvements in environmental performance and the prevention of pollution.

Environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice will be regarded as setting the minimum standards of environmental performance.

Specific policies include:

Friends of Tawd Valley recognise the rights of children and take active steps to give local children a better future, and encourage environmental education.

Friends of Tawd Valley will use local voluntary  labour where possible on all projects.

Projects will always aim to prevent unintentional harmful side effects to environmental or cultural values.

We will impliment our policies through a coordinated management system ie the Committee of FoTV.  We will also impliment our polices through guidelines and training

We will minimise waste and recycle materials. We will dispose of all waste through safe and responsible methods.

FoTV will monitor its performance in implimenting these principles and in complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

This policy was approved at the Friends of Tawd Valley committee meeting held in February 2022.
