We haven’t had a blog update in awhile, and I know you guys and gals will be having FoTV withdrawal symptoms. So, here it goes… Get ready for this mega update.
First up, the beginning of August started with the perfect weather, which added to a fantastic morning down in Tawd Valley Park as little explorers (and their grownups) joined us for the annual community riverfly session. The highlight of the morning had to be a Stone Loach and European Eel. A great way to spend a Sunday morning.
A big thank you to Groundwork Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside. and West Lancashire Borough Council Parks & Countryside Ranger Service for the help and support.
As always Team Tawd have been working non-stop through-out August and into the month of September. They’ve been mainly concentrating on getting the community fruit orchard ready for the winter months. The team have been strimming, scything, clearing and raking and it hasn’t half made a difference and is looking fantastic. Well done to the gang and thank you to the WLBC Ranger Service for their help and support.
Next up, It was a very successful morning at Septembers FoTV volunteer day. Our volunteers cleared all the cut grass from the orchard and tidied up the rain garden. Drinks and biscuits in the sunshine was their well deserved reward. Thank you to all the volunteers for your hard work, we really wouldn’t be where we are without their brilliant work ethic.
Children had a great time at this months FoTV kingfisher club, yesterday. They learnt about birds that they may see in their garden and also in Tawd Valley park. After the learning input they had great fun making their own unique paper plate birds and some fantastic binoculars that they used to find birds at the allotment site.
That brings us to the end of our updates. Thank you for visiting today and reading all about what we’ve been up to down in Tawd Valley Park. Come back soon for even FoTV action! Continue to have a great weekend.
