A short, but sweet one for this update…
January’s second Friday saw Team Tawd along with Rangers Chris and Hallam out repairing a section of footpath along the river, which had been badly damaged by the heavy rain over recent weeks.
Meanwhile Ranger Hannah was out with our river specialist Mike and the super Sam duo from Groundworks to discuss the upcoming ’Save Our Wild Isles’ Half-Mile Lake Improvement project and other projects planned for the valley in the near future.
Ormskirk Clocktower Rotary Club were so pleased to announce (after a lot of counting!) that their Christmas collections in December have raised a huge £9000 for local and international charities.
Their sleigh covered routes in Ormskirk, Burscough, Parbold, Newburgh and Skelmersdale as well as static sites around the area manned entirely by volunteers from our club and thirteen different charities both local and international, FoTV being one of them.
On behalf of everyone at Ormskirk Clocktower Rotary, they and we would like to say a huge THANK YOU for all your support and generosity.
Next up, FoTV, WLBC Rangers and Groundwork welcomed the Angling Trust to Tawd Valley Park. They very kindly gave expertise guidance and advice on how best to implement biosecurity measures, as part of the upcoming “Half-Mile Fishing Lake Habitat Improvements” project.
Fresh off the press – This morning, Team Tawd finished off laying flags next to the classroom in preparation for the new storage cabin which is being delivered this week. Fantastic!
That’s a wrap! Thank you for taking the time to have a read and we hope you’ve enjoyed our recent activities down in Tawd Valley Park. Keep checking back for further updates.
