So, What’s Been Happening Lately…?

They say that Friday the 13th of October is unlucky for some, but not for Team Tawd and the Ranger Service. The morning saw the continued strimming of some of the meadows down in the valley. The maintenance of the meadows within the park will help get them prepped for the winter and ready for the spring. Great job everyone and thank you for all your hard work.

Last week, we were honoured to be invited to the Edge Hill University Community Connect Event. We enjoyed interacting with the students and talking about what we do in Tawd Valley Park. Hopefully, we get some new volunteers from the experience. A really enjoyable day. Thank you to our committee members who gave up the all important Liverpool FC vs. Everton FC Derby day. It was much appreciated.

Next up, last Saturday saw FoTV win the Lancashire Wildlife Trust “Urban Community Group Nature Champion” award. We were invited to the Lancs Wildlife Trusts Supporters Day 2023 at UCLAN in Preston to celebrate all the amazing things local groups and individuals are doing for nature and conservation in Lancashire, Greater Manchester and North Merseyside. The day was filled with amazing workshops, presentations and good food. Thank you so much to Neil Goldie for nominating FoTV for the Action for Nature Awards 2023. We really appreciate it. It was a fantastic surprise.

Even more maintenance was conducted on Friday, when the legends that are Team Tawd and the Ranger Service carried on with all the ongoing and much needed work on the valleys meadows. Valiant effort by all.

We hope you enjoyed this load of updates. Please make sure to check back regularly for more Tawd Valley Park news! We hope you have a spectacularly spooky Halloween. Good fright!!!
