This morning, FoTV was involved in one of the four tree plantings across the West Lancashire Borough Council area, as part of The Queens Green Canopy Platinum Jubilee project.
The chosen site for Skelmersdale’s tree is next to the newly placed rock feature located metres away from where the old bandstand used to be. Fun fact: Did you know that the rocks used in the new feature are from the old rock fountain that used to be opposite the library?
Many thanks to local councillors and WLBC Parks & Countryside Ranger Service for being apart of this fantastic morning and thank you to Mayor Gordon Johnson for providing a small speech and for unveiling the plaque that accompanies the newly planted oak.
We hope you will join us in helping to nurture and protect this young sapling in its new home at the Tawd Valley Park, as it begins its long journey growing into a strong mighty oak.
