This weekend FoTV volunteers were joined by WLBC Ranger Ben for the second part of the Meeting Place Project.
As you may remember on our last volunteer day, FoTV volunteers constructed a large timber raised vegetable and wildflower bed and also laid tonnes of gravel to create a pathway and flooring ready for picnic tables.
Today, the weather was perfect and the sun was shining and everything was in place ready for the picnic tables to be installed.
Many thanks to our volunteers and Ben who turned up and worked really hard to get the project completed. We couldn’t have done it without you all.
It is hoped that in the summer months the community will use the meeting place to sit down, relax and unwind, take in the beauty that the park has to offer, whilst enjoying the fruit from the community orchard nearby. We will also be encouraging the community to take samples of the vegetables from the raised bed when they are ready to harvest.
Again we would like to say a big, big thank you to the Postal Code Lottery and Asda for helping fund the Meeting Place Project.
And thank you again to all our volunteers involved in helping get this project across the finish line.
