This morning representatives of Friends of Tawd Valley, WLBC Ranger Service and the Ribble Rivers Trust were at the proposed site for the new Damselfly Wetland area, listening to the local communities thoughts and ideas about the project.
The wetland will be located in the Tawd Valley Park on the grassland next to the public footpath near the two housing estates – Irwell and Inskip.
The proposed wetland will not only help improve the water quality of the River Tawd by filtering water run off before it reaches the river, but it will also importantly provide new habitat for wildlife such as, fish, birds and insects.
If you were unable to attend, but would still like to provide feedback, then please email your thoughts to: tawd@ribbletrust.com
We are really excited about this project and it will hopefully begin construction in 2023.
